Boost Your Family's Energy Levels

It’s afternoon, you’ve just had lunch, picked up the kids from school and that afternoon sleepiness is kicking in! How can you boost your energy levels to keep you going for the rest of the day? Here are a few tips to set you and your family on the way to feeling great and energized!

  1. Go to bed early: G o to bed earlier to compensate for the sleep you're not getting in the morning. Make sure to turn on your bedroom light as soon as you wake up, this helps your body clock to adjust more quickly, as well as being a good way of making sure you get out of bed.
  2. Get up early: You can aim to finish your day’s work by 2 or 3pm and have the rest of the day to relax with your family.
  3. Go for a quick walk: It will get the blood flowing around your body. Or kick a ball around with the kids or play catch in the back yard. Fresh air and sunshine can do wonders and boost your energy levels in the afternoon.
  4. Stretching: Having a stretch helps to release tension in both the mind and muscles and helps you to refocus your thoughts.
  5. Eat Healthy Foods: A healthy, balanced diet does wonders for your energy levels. Like caffeine, junk foods give a quick energy boost, but soon leave you craving for more. Make sure you chew your food well. This prevents indigestion, and gives you that extra energy that your stomach would have spent digesting your un-chewed food.
  6. Drink More Water: Dehydration can make you feel sluggish and sleepy.
  7. Aromatherapy: Try using aromatherapy oils such as cinnamon or rosemary to brighten your mood. Or, try burning candles with these scents to fill the room with a fresh fragrance.
  8. Focus: Plan what you need to do each day, make a schedule, and stick to it.
  9. Relax: By making a schedule and sticking to it, you will have a lot more time to relax and do the things you want to do, whether it's more reading, taking up a new hobby, starting a new blog, or spending time with your family and friends.

Be amazed by how good you begin to feel and by how much more you're getting done.
